Creating an award-nominated co-designed pocket park as part of an estate renewal programme. Urban Symbiotics facilitated The Gascoigne Residents’ Forum (GRF) to co-design a new active space in collaboration with Fabrik Landscapes and Wates.
The park was designed to fulfil community aspirations and now provides the residents with a place to play, exercise, grow and perform. Iftars, children’s birthdays and easter egg hunts are just some of the events bringing people together in this new and thriving hub. The park will operate for 3-5 years before the site will be used to create new homes as part of the ongoing regeneration works. The park has since been nominated for an NLA award and featured as part of the NLA London Festival of Architecture.
